Introducing a New Social Entrepreneur: Thought & Co.’s Matt Forgacs

Here at One-Community Consulting we love helping our Spartan family of students and alumni. Today we get to welcome a very special new client, Thought & Co. As a 20-something Spartan junior at Michigan State University, founder and CEO Matt Forgacs is developing a new social media app for those who don’t like social media! We are so impressed with his innovation, drive and determination to take a product to market as a full-time undergraduate. Matt is joining our “Knowledge Leadership” program and will benefit from the O-CC Incubation Stewards. Working with MSU Broad, Spartan Innovations, The Hatch and more, Matt has also partnered with Michigan Creative, Cooley Hehl Sabo & Calkins, Simpatico Consulting and Fox Sports College Properties with donations and support from Lehi Inspections and Service as well as a American Plumbing Contractors.

Several years ago Matt found himself completely dissatisfied while trying to build a social media following. He wanted a way to express his ideas, to be heard and on a equal playing field with other entrepreneurs. He had a good idea but didn’t know how to get it to market. He desired a platform with no followers, just an open exchange of discussion; organized thought categories; live/trending data; free expression and location-based services. At O-CC we see this as a proactive solution, in particular, to cross-cultural and industry challenge areas of internet bullying, unequal distribution of wealth, and those limitations encountered with tools like free user groups.

We can’t wait to see this grow and will provide business development, marketing and fund strategy for the Thought & Co. team. Congratulations to Matt for moving his idea forward and thank you to our fellow Spartans for being such a creative and supportive family. Go Green!
